I am going to review Biostar TA890GXB which is based upon AMD’s 890GX chipset for the Northbridge and integrated with Radeon HD 4290 and SB850 chipset for the Southbridge combination. And also support SATA 6 Gb/s,unfotenatelly there is one issues with this chipset which is the de-activation of the Advance Clock Calibration (ACC) on the southbridge.
ACC allows the fourth processor core to be unlocked on the fifth or X3 CPUs and sixth processor cores to be unlocked on CPUs. Biostar motherboards has BIO-unlocKING allows users to activate ACC on AMD processors. Uses AM3 as the main socket for processor.
This AMD’s motherboard has GT063 stands and designed for overclocker’s and allows the user to automatically overclock the iGPU and CPU giving an increase in performance in 3DMark by up to 60%. GT06 also has supported 3rd power, AMD 6 core CPUs and SATA 6 Gb/ second. The 6 core AMD CPUs are supported by the 890GX chipsetThe SB850 southbridge on the motherboard support natively SATA 6 Gb/second.
Biostar TA890GXb motherboard has the radeon HD 4290, if you are notice this GPU is basically the same integrted core on the 785GX chipset but the main different between both chipset is the clock speed with 890GX has a 700 MHz clock speed. The Bios on this amd motherboard has a several key features such as BIO-Relife, BIO-Flasher and the best feature is the O.N.E… BIO-Flasher wich allows the easy flashing of the BIOS from a USB flash disk.

For $89 price, BIOSTAR’s TA890GXB HD is excellent choice for the users whos want to build inexpensive 6 core system. And The HD 4290 integrated graphics is faster than the last generation of AMD, the 790GX integrated and sufficient for casual gaming.
